Our Story

Sycamore Creek Church was a new church plant from the Holt United Methodist Church in 2000. Our founding pastor was Pastor Barbara Flory. Our first worship service at Lansing Christian School was in November, 2000. We became chartered in February, 2005. Since then Sycamore Creek has expanded to become a multi-site church with several campuses and venues. Now, our S Lansing Campus gathers together at 1919 S Pennsylvania Avenue, worshiping and bringing the community together with everything from the South Lansing Art Festival, giving voice and stage to local artists and musicians, and partnering with Mt. Hope Steam School and Hope Central Urban Arts. We welcomed Pastor Michal White in August, 2022 as our S Lansing Campus pastor. Come and join us over coffee in the café, or out in the community working together and serving others.

Campus Pastor - Pastor Michal (rhymes with Michelle) joined the Sycamore Creek Church team in the summer of 2022 as the pastor of the South Lansing campus. A native of North Carolina, she moved with her family to lead a campus at a large multi-site church in Chicago after her graduation from Seminary, then to Lansing a few years later. She has three kids and two dogs and loves to read, watch hockey (go Hurricanes!), and spend time with her family.
