Kids & Teens

Kids Creek

Kids Creek is available at our S Lansing and Potterville Campuses at 10:30 AM during worship. Sign your kids in during worship, where they will play, pray,  and engage in a Bible story each week.

Weekly Curriculum

Our Kids Ministry resources are written by Sycamore Creek Partner Erin Wasinger, which puts the stories of the Bible into kid-friendly terms. Each week, a different story is presented by volunteer storytellers through Erin’s published work, led by Star Lalone at our S Lansing Campus and Danielle Roush at our Potterville Campus.

Mission

Teen Fuel is Sycamore Creek’s youth ministry for 6th-12th graders. The fun, relationship-based gatherings of Teen Fuel are the fuel that ignites authentic life in Christ. Weekly gatherings involve celebration, prayer, group learning in 6th-8th and 9th-12th small groups, and fun activities. Teen Fuel meets regularly on Sunday afternoons from 4-5:30 PM at the Potterville campus. Monthly group activities/outings that take the place of that week’s regular gathering. Teen Fuel gatherings typically follow the school calendar and occur in September through May.

SC Cares

Tom Fox: Care Pastor

Tom Fox is a retired pastor and now runs several care and inclusivity initiatives at Sycamore Creek and MSU. He can be found visiting shut-ins, the injured and hospitalized in our community, and supporting those in need of financial assistance through our resources alongside Christian Services. He is passionate about LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion, and leads many groups on understanding terms, history, and growing spiritually both on Michigan State’s campus and at Sycamore Creek.

Inclusivity Initiative:

Support at Pride: Sycamore Creek is an affirming church we care about you and who you are, supporting the LGBTQ+ community and gender inclusivity by fostering a healthy community that supports all people.

Anti-Racism: We sit under the leadership of the Justice League of Greater Lansing and participate in the apology to the black community

We are also committed to this work through Communities Organizing for Racial Equity, or CORE, which supports the education and conversation about anti-racism and brings communities together to begin the work of Anti-Racism.

Giving

Online Giving

What your giving goes towards:

Your giving goes where you want it to. If you give to our ministry fund, we use that money to support those who reach out to us in need of food and resources, scholarships to counseling services or marriage and community retreats, supporting events to reach more people in the community with love, and to pay our staff, for our bills and building, music licenses, and all the other things that make worship happen each week at Sycamore Creek.

If you give to Dr. Mir in Nicaragua, your giving goes to support Dr. Mir and her food and medical ministry in Nicaragua, supporting over 50 children each week with food and medicine.

If you give to another designated fund, you can tell us where you want your giving to go. Kids Creek ministry, Teen Fuel, Food Ministries, Small Groups, and more. Your giving goes where you want it to.

How to give for specific missions & ministries:

At sycamorecreekchurch.org/give, fill out the form to designate your giving. You can also indicate where you’d like your giving to go through mail on a giving envelope at one of our campuses, or simply by writing to us and letting us know. Your generosity means something to us, and commitment to the mission of God in our world and our community is our financial aim.
