WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT
On Sundays, you can expect warm hospitality, Paramount coffee, other hot drinks, and tasty treats. Worship includes contemporary music and is super casual. The messages are uplifting, relevant, often humorous, and vary in content -- movie clips and popular music keeps things unpredictable. We receive communion about once a month, and that's open to anyone whose intention is to be at peace with God and with their neighbors. The whole service wraps up in about an hour or so, but feel free to stick around the Connection Cafe for free coffee and snacks and chat!
On Mondays, worship with your mouth full. Order yourself some pub fare and expect a laid-back atmosphere, good conversation starters, acoustic worship music, and an engaging message. Church in a Pub wraps up in about an hour, too. If it's your first or second time here, we'll pick up your tab for a free burger and fries!
On Tuesdays, we turn a diner into a sanctuary, complete with the same dynamic message, acoustic worship music, a relaxed environment -- and feel free to order yourself some pancakes. Church in a Diner is about an hour long, and first-time and second-time guests get a free burger and fries!
WHAT ABOUT KIDS & TEENS?
Infants and toddlers can play, read, and have a snack in our nursery during both Sunday services. Children ages 3 through fifth grade are invited to participate in our Kids Creek program. To join us, simply sign in at the Kids table in the Connection Cafe and head to the worship space. Our worship leader will dismiss the children and Kids Creek volunteers after the first few songs -- upstairs, kids will hear a bible story and participate in a dramatic "retelling" activity, followed by some free play time or craft time. Adults can pick up their children in the classroom after service.
Youth grades 6-12 are welcome at all our worship services and venues, where they'll find relevant music, messages, and media crafted with teens in mind (our pastors and worship leaders are basically teens in adult disguise). Youth can also participate in Teen Fuel Cafe on Sunday nights, from October - May from 6:30-8 PM in SCC's Connection Cafe, 1919 S. Penn. We begin as a large group with free yummy snacks, fun opening music & message, then break into small groups for activities and teen-initiated discussion about spiritual questions. Guests & friends are encouraged; agnostics welcome!
I WANT TO LEARN MORE
Meet & Eat is a great place to ask questions and get to know more about Sycamore Creek and what makes us tick. Meet & Eat is at Subway at Mt. Hope and Pennsylvania after second service on most fourth Sundays; at Buddies Grill on most fourth Mondays; or at Jackie's Diner on MLK Boulevard on most fourth Tuesdays. Key leaders from Sycamore Creek will be there to introduce themselves and answer questions -- and pick up your tab!
Have a specific question you'd like to ask? We'd love to hear from you! Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the office at 517-394-6100.
Where Can I Park?
Find a spot around the building in our lot (we have about 40 spaces), or park in our overflow lot around Spartan Dental. You’re also welcome to park on the side streets around our Sunday venue (McKim and Alpha, or at Yunker Memorials).
